Oscar Pate

Mr. Pate is Co-Founder & CIO of Edge, where he oversees firm management and strategy, investment sourcing, transaction negotiation and execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to co-founding Edge, Mr. Pate spent five years at NGP Energy Capital (“NGP”), during which time he sourced, structured, executed, monitored and exited investments throughout North America. Mr. Pate served on NGP’s Monitoring Committee and focused on deal sourcing in the Mid-Continent, Permian and Rocky Mountain regions. Mr. Pate also represented NGP on numerous private boards. Prior to joining NGP, Mr. Pate worked in the investment banking division of Barclays Capital in Houston, where he focused on financing and merger and acquisition transactions in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Pate serves on the Advisory Council of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Energy Center. Mr. Pate received a B.A. in Plan II and a B.B.A. in Finance with highest honors in 2007 from The University of Texas at Austin. He received an M.B.A. in 2014 from Stanford University, where he graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar.
